Weekend that was

A quick review of the weekend and some tit bits of the week that was.
I feel like with all the blog challenges I don't really spend much time on writing about everyday things.  This started as a bit of a journal for me and a way for Kai to look back and see what was happening around him when he was small, so I think it is important to keep these little personal bits going too.

Last week was pretty quiet in general.  I baked some cookies on Sunday last week for Kai, and also to test out my Letterpress cookie set

I am thinking I want to make some cookies for my guests to take home from my Come Dine with me, as it is a Christmas theme there must be a gift.  But I want it to be personal.  So I thought of baking a stack of cookies, with their names on?

The thing is the cookies have to be made from a certain dough, so that the letters will press properly.  I am testing different recepies at the moment. (Above picture NOT how mine turned out :))

The week was busy at work.  Nothing New.  On Friday we had a social at work.  We donned some masks, I set up a office hurdle course and we had some nice catered food and drinks.  People had fun, and laughed and got to relax for just a little bit.

Saturday this week, we had Micayla's birthday party. She turned 3.  Cant believe it.  Its surreal to see how quickly the little humans are growing up! Kai was his normal shy self, but he warmed up a little quicker than he did before.  Big Horray!

My Mom is off this weekend, and moved in and is only leaving tonight.  Klaus and I got some great sleep on Saturday night and again last night.  Phew talk about being renewed.

We were pretty quiet on Saturday after the party.  We ordered some pizza, chilled some wine, and relaxed after a long week.  I did sort out my shelf in my bathroom with all the toiletries on.  Tick! I also re packed my cupboard, just so I an actually see what is going on.

I unpacked all the Christmas loot and realized I only need some tinsel and a couple more baubles for the tree.  I am all sorted for the rest of the decorations. Yah!

Sunday was a busy day around our parts.  We made some crumpets, added some bacon and maple syrup and enjoyed! It was heaven.  Bacon and maple syrup is not a norm around our parts.  (Thank you Pinterest for introducing me to this little piece of heaven)! We also decided to have a little braai for a late lunch.

My  cousin also came over to come and sort out arrangements and plans for our other cousins little baby shower.  Its going to be very small.  Just family.  It is her 3rd child, and she is not really super close to us.  It has an owl theme.  She is excited because it is her first girl, its is also 9 years after her youngest ... but hey who is counting.  She says it was an oops! I love planning things, and planning things with Elricka is the bomb  Elricka also had some great news which I can not wait to share.  (When she is ready)!!

Got my hair dyed, (needed it!).  And had a nice chilling afternoon.  Hope the weather turns around soon, this bloody cold is getting to me!
